Dr. Franz Jones

Medical Director

Franz Jones, DO, is a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician who is fellowship-trained in interventional spine, sports, and regenerative medicine. He focuses on treating patients who suffer from various musculoskeletal disorders including lower back and neck pain, as well as hip, knee, shoulder, and other joint pain and musculoskeletal problems.

Dr. Jones completed his Undergraduate studies at South Carolina State University, where he graduated summa cum laude, prior to graduating with his Master’s degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. He then went on to complete his medical degree at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency training at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, Illinois, where he proudly served as Chief resident in his final year.

After, he continued to follow his passion for medicine by completing a specialty fellowship in Interventional spine, sports, and regenerative medicine at Southwest Spine and Sports in Scottsdale, Arizona. There, he worked with Dr. Michael Wolff on innovative treatments to help relieve low back pain caused by degenerative disks and arthritis.

Dr. Jones is a proud diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is also a member of the American Academy of Physiatrists, the North American Spine Society, and the Spine Intervention Society. He has been involved in several clinical trials and has authored various case reports and papers.

Additionally, he mentors medical students and works with various resident physicians and fellows from several programs in South Florida. He is also very active in the community, covering high school football games for several schools throughout Broward County.

His clinical interests include using various injection therapies to help alleviate painful spinal and joint disorders as well as other ligament, tendon, or muscle injuries. He is also very passionate about using regenerative medicine therapies such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and bone marrow aspirate or adipose tissue injections (often referred to as ortho-biologic or stem cell procedures) for healing and recovery.

On a personal note, Dr. Jones enjoys soccer and boxing. He also enjoys camping and outdoor activities and enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Dr. Michael Massey

Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine

Dr. Massey is Triple Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), Pain Medicine and Brain Injury Medicine. He trained as a pain medicine fellow at University of Washington. He also trained in a PM&R residency at Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital, an academic affiliate of University of Chicago. He developed an integrated pain care service within the CentraCare Health network with multiple service lines including interventional pain medicine, medication therapy management, spine/musculoskeletal medicine, opioid transition clinic and interdisciplinary pain care. He is currently the Founder and CEO of Gulf Coast PainCare providing comprehensive pain services along the west coast of Florida. He is the primary author of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) chapter in Bonica’s Management of Pain, 5th edition and co-author of CRPS practical diagnostic and treatment guidelines 5th edition. He is the founding member of the International Research Consortium for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. He is the co-author of multiple North American Spine Society spine coverage recommendations. He is the co-author of Adult Acute and Subacute Low Back Pain for Institute of Clinical Systems Improvement, 16th edition. Dr. Massey is a reviewer for The Spine Journal and Pain Medicine. He has served on multiple boards. Dr. Massey is a medical chart reviewer for appeals in state-run managed care and workers compensation programs. He has received training and is a Certified Physician Life Care Planner.  He currently serves on the Florida Chapter of International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP) Board as Chair of the Training and Education Committee. Nicole Cash

Nicole Cash is a dedicated and highly experienced Nurse Practitioner with over eight years of expertise in both clinical and operating room settings. With a passion for delivering high-quality patient care, Nicole has consistently demonstrated her commitment to fostering strong patient relationships and providing comprehensive, personalized treatment plans across various surgical specialties.

Nicole earned her Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner from Old Dominion University. Her academic excellence was also evident during her undergraduate studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and was an esteemed member of the Phi Eta Honor Society.

Throughout her career, Nicole has excelled in conducting thorough patient assessments, diagnosing conditions, and implementing evidence-based interventions. Her collaborative nature makes her a valuable team player, working alongside our other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and promote overall health and wellness through education and personalized care.

Nicole holds multiple certifications, including Virginia ARPN, Family Nurse Practitioner, Virginia RN License, Basic Life Support, AORN Certification, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Her unwavering dedication to her profession and her patients makes her an invaluable asset to our healthcare team.

Ashley Rowland is a highly skilled and dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of comprehensive experience in diverse healthcare settings. Ashley earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Family Nurse Practitioner from Kentucky Christian University in December 2017. Her academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Shawnee State University, where she developed a solid foundation in nursing care and patient management.

Catherine has spent many years as a Family Nurse Practitioner in both orthopedics and regenerative medicine, where she performs comprehensive patient assessments, orders and interprets diagnostic testing, and administers advanced therapeutic interventions such as nerve, joint, and tendon injections. Her work has allowed her to treat a diverse patient population, including those suffering from personal injuries, chronic pain, and degenerative joint diseases.
